Frequently asked questions.

Do I need planning permission for a new fence?

Usually not. In England, a fence up to 2m high generally does not need planning permission, or up to 1m where it borders a road. Listed buildings and conservation areas can differ, so we will flag anything at the site visit.

Can you use my existing concrete posts?

Yes, if they are straight, solid and not cracked. Our Rinato Infill option slots capped composite boards between them. If your posts are past it, we will tell you honestly and quote for new aluminium posts instead.

Will an aluminium or composite fence blow down?

Not when it is installed properly. Posts are set in concrete at the spacing each system is designed for. Most blown-down fences fail at rotten timber posts, which is exactly what these systems replace.

What is included in the price per metre?

Everything for a standard 1.8m fence: removing and disposing of your old fence, posts, concrete, boards, fixings and labour, with VAT included. Gates, extra height and difficult access are quoted separately.

Is there a minimum project size?

Yes, our minimum project is £3,000. That usually means a full garden boundary, or roughly 10 to 25 metres depending on the system you choose.

How long does installation take?

Most garden boundaries take 2 to 4 days with a 2 or 3 person team. We confirm the exact timeline in your written quote.

Why Is Ivy Damaging My Drystone Wall

Ivy roots into the core of a drystone wall and forces the stones apart, and pulling it off makes the damage worse. Plex Group explains what is happening and the right way to fix it across the Cotswolds.
